Because of the complex nature of medicine all claims should be pre-authorised before incuring any costs. The insurer should be contacted on the helpline with details of the claim to hand. This will include the type of treatment or consultation you are going for, when and where this will be ( If you already have an appointment) and the name of the consultant.
